   We were really looking forward to dinner here for our daughter's 18th birthday. The place is stunning during the holidays. The decorations and the lights are phenomenal. I would go here just to see them. We arrived and ordered a couple of appetizers: calamari and artichoke dip. The calamari was okay but definitely could have been fried a bit longer to crisp up the batter a little more. The artichoke dip was mediocre. My brother and I both had Rib Eyes which were cooked perfect. Can never go wrong here. Sister in law had salmon that they literally burned the skin on the bottom side and the fish itself was very dry. My daughter had the chicken breast which in my opinion was pathetic and for the price could have been something so much better. The rosemary au jus had no flavor that they topped it with. Mught as well have called it a salted chicke breast. Mom had the filet which she said was awesome, and my wife had the new york which was great as well. Couple of major issues. Our server, Gerardo, was so unavailable for us. He took our order disappeared and rarely stopped to check on us during the meal. My wife and sister in law shared a bottle of wine so when he walked by, he would pick up the bottle and pour a little bit in their glasses. The rest of us had to ask every time we needed refills on our iced tea and coffee. He just passed by and didn't check when we even saw him. The other staff delivered our food and appetizers. He showed up as they were setting the last plate. Ibhad to flag him down every time I needed something. Then comes to the birthday part. He brings my daughter a menu and knew it was her birthday before we even ordered. I made sure of it. They brought out a tiramisu with enough cocoa powder to bake a full sheet cake on 1 little square of it, threw $18 on the bill for it, sang happy birthday, dropped our check and disappeared. Again. Had to flag him down to pay and he automatically got a 20% tip for awful service.

   First time at Mission Inn and was very much looking forward to the overnight visit. The lunch menu at this on-site restaurant was short and sweet and pretty standard. I suppose I was expecting more because of reputation of the hotel. Our server, though adequate and efficient when she did appear, was nowhere to be found for very long stretches of time. The restaurant was not full so not sure if they were lacking staff or what was going on. Due to service and lackluster lunch menu, I will probably not return. The patio where we sat was beautiful and totally decked out for the holidays. Very much appreciated that.

   We were a party of ten who came to see the Festival of Lights (amazing). Perhaps that was the problem because with ten people you are forced to have a fixed $85 menu. We should have made two reservations of five each so that we could choose from the regular menu. Despite the restaurant knowing beforehand I had to be dairy free they did nothing to accommodate my necessary dietary restrictions. So I ended up eating bland calamari, dry salmon (they forgot to put the rice on my plate), a boring mixed salad and sad fruit. Friends thought that the other food choices on this menu didn’t taste good. Plus they added a 20% gratuity (expected) and then another 10% and a “liquor up-charge.” Not sure what the last two charges were. All in all it was very disappointing. We were there last year for the lights and ate at the same restaurant in the Mission Inn (and enjoyed it) but I would not go there again. Essentially it ruined our evening.

   We were really excited to dine at The Mission Inn Restaurant. I know you are paying for the ambiance, but, for the price ($540 for 6 people, no alcohol), we could've stayed the night at the resort. Service was good, but the food wasn't very desirable. The spinach artichoke dip and truffle fries were delicious, but the main course lacked quality. My husband's filet and a major vein through the middle of it, making it impossible to cut and eat. My ribeye was overcooked. If we were to return, it would be for appetizers and desserts only. No one in our party truly enjoyed their meal. We also had two birthdays in our party, neither of which were acknowledged by our server. I thought maybe they didn't celebrate birthdays, but another server celebrated a birthday in his section. But, the decorations for Festival of Lights was worth the visit. make sure you dine in the courtyard if you are there during the event.

   Food and service was great, but for New Years Eve there should have been music playing and the lights dimmed a little.

   Aunque llegue 1 hora antes de la reserva y solicitamos mesa outside no hubo disponibilidad después de esperar 1 hora la opcion fue inside o esperar 1 hora más, los baños pésimos, sucios con mal olor, con muchos papeles en el piso, el resto del servicio y la comida fue excelente, pero honestamente no cumplió con mis expectativas para ese día.

    The following are the poor key point: 1. Took a very long time to be seated because the hostess was also the person seated the guest. Under staffed. 2. Order a stake at $63.00. Quality of stake was poor. Had much better stake at Long Horn Restaurant at half the cost. 3. Ordered a Salmon. This was the smallest and thiness Salmon that I have ever seen. :( 4. Our waiter was not very professional. Was not engaged and rushing. He did not check on us during the whole process.
