   The poached pear salad and the cocktails were the highlights. The surf and turf steak was grissly and the squash ravioli was over sweet with not enough contrast in flavors. The place is interesting and unassuming. It’s in a sort of business park and the view of any water is obstructed by a somewhat opaque plastic. The bar area looked fun and the service was very attentive and paced well.

   Starting off with a very sour Cosmo it kind of went downhill. I ordered a glass of cab instead. They charged me for BOTH when I got the bill! My Caesar salad was bland (not much dressing!) and lettuce was old! My beef bouguignon was warm but overcooked. Our bread pudding was the high light of the dinner! Our server was unsure of everything…maybe his first night? Will we return? Not sure!

   This is one of our favorite places for dinner but the steak we ordered was virtually raw and had to be reheated. The cut of the meat was tough when it returned to the table.

   We had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day at Mistral - we hadn't been in years and just live down the street. The prix fixe menu was lovely, and there was plenty of choice for us. Food was all well-prepared - I especially enjoyed my lobster risotto, and my husband especially enjoyed his poached pear salad. The service was lovely, too, and we really loved sitting out on the patio by the fireplace and under the heat lamps. Our only comment is that we still find the price to be a bit high. But we still enjoyed ourselves!

   Food was tasty but my husband's lamb shank came out cold and the temperature of my risotto was uneven. Also, several of our dishes came out after the table next to us who were seated and ordered after us. We waited a very long time between dishes. The server and manager were apologetic about the food and compensated some of the bill. Hopefully, it was just a one time thing.

   First time here. The host (sorry, didn't get his name) was excellent! He sat us and also was our server for most of the meal. I would say the food is good, but not amazing. Although, my halibut with the lobster bisque sauce was perfection, the pizza was a little flavorless and the dough wasn't that appealing. And I don't think the menu described the risotto having squid ink sauce on it. I would have not liked it if I ordered that dish not knowing that, but my guests enjoyed their food even though they pined for my dish! Will definitely return to try other seafood on the menu.

   Mistrals is a Redwood Shores classic and a real hidden gem amongst Peninsula locals! My husband and I had the most fabulous dinner and our server Aretha totally took excellent care of us and made our experience amazing! Will totally return for the short ribs stew and the NYC steak which were all reasonably priced! Cheers to a local favorite spot!

   Service was slow, appeared short staffed. Three of our party of four ordered the marinated skirt steak. Marinade was good, but the steak was gristly and very hard to cut. Those who had the steak took it home, but ended up disposing of it; entree was expensive too boot. The tomato saffron tomato broth did not complement the Paella entree; not as good as other paella dishes I've had. Best part of the meal was the berry cobbler for dessert. There were too many misses here to recommend or return.

   Came here with family. Ordered two types of steak, Angus and New York strip, and both were exquisitely prepared. Alaskan halibut was fabulous too.

    Food was good, although the description in the menu left out that there was gorgonzola in the gratin, which was way too overwhelming and if I had known I would have chosen something else. Service was ok, but not great, but it was busy at new year's eve. Unfortunately they added themselves a 20% tip automatically to the bill and a gratuity tax and another 5% health tax that was not announced anywhere beforehand which feels highly disingenuous and leaves a bad aftertaste to the dining experience.
