The noise level was so bad could not hear the person who sat across from me.. I wish had known sign language The salad was average — the chicken was tough, full of lettuce, no dressing — poor The service was bad — never asked how things were, did we want dessert or something more to drink You had one person work an entire room.. No wonder — as a member of Mount Vernon I shall not return. I do not blame the waiter this is the result of poor management

Great experience! Definitely try the hoecakes as an appetizer, and mount Vernon cherry pie to finish the experience.

We had a great dinner at the Inn. It’s a cozy, kitschy-historic place to grab some southern fare. There aren’t many dining options in Ft. Hunt, but the MVIR is family friendly and the food is great. The wine/drinks menu is a little lacking. The price of the food is very reasonable and the portions are large. The skillet Mac n cheese & chicken and waffles were a big hit with the tweens. Shrimp and grits was delicious.

We came on a Saturday night around 6pm, didn’t need a reservation for 2, but we had one. The waitress was very nice and we sampled the Peanut Soup and Maryland Crab Soup. Both were good. If you like peanut butter and peanuts, you’ll probably like the soup as I did. We also tried the hoecakes and fried Brie. The hoecakes were good and the fried Brie was meh. For entrees, we had the steak frite and been fricasse. Both were very good, I liked the steak frite and would ordered again. I don’t think I’d order the fricasse again, but my husband really liked it. We didn’t get desserts, but got drinks. The apple cider brandy was really good. Spiced butter rum was good, but I didn’t order again. I had the maple old fashioned, which my husband said was a really good old fashioned (that’s his favorite drink), but I was hoping to taste the maple more, which I did not. We would definitely go back again and had a great experience!

Aggressively mediocre food. Good ambience. Inattentive service. Price is fair.

Took mom for her 85th birthday. There were 6 of us. What a lovely, lovely lunch. Our server, Leilani, was so gracious and patient with us (gift opening, etc.). Fireplace was roaring on a cold day, food was perfect and prices are so reasonable! Highly recommend!!
