The Albion is a Georgian gem left over from a time when Islington was fields and farmland, and where the regulars would take afternoon walks out of the city to visit us. We have a lovely garden which resembles places found in the South of France, with the wisteria blooming and the willow creating a nice and relaxed atmosphere. In the back of the garden there is an old barn which used to be a bar, and the rumour is that the Sex Pistols played their first concert in the barn. Inside, the log fires create a lovely atmosphere during the cold months, where you can wrap up and enjoy a drink or food both in our dining room and bar areas. We are frequented by regulars from our local area as well as their dogs. We happily provide both water and biscuits for visiting dogs and love to have them around.

Granary Square Brasserie, a new restaurant brand from the team behind the Ivy Collection.The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow. The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. Food and environment are great and definitely returning next time in London. The service was a bit rushed and we and the table next to us were politely reminded there was another reservation behind us. A little surprised to experience that after just over one hour in a restaurant of this level but perhaps that’s typical these days ? Rarely happens in the US so it was unexpected. Nonetheless, enjoyed our dinner and will return.

Tasty food, good prices, nice atmosphere. We went for a Sunday roast with my family and sat at the upper floor which was more quiet. The service was great and the food and wine was very nice.

Excellent experience both in terms of the food and the unique Georgian wines offered (and the recommendations in respect thereof from the staff) and also in conversations with the staff as to history and traditions of the culture. Would go back next time I’m in London.
