The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce.     This was not my first time visiting Brennan’s but was my first time dining. Everything was great from the cocktails to the food, the service and the special cotton candy dessert. I had a wonderful birthday experience.

    Our server, Becky, was incredible. She was so polite and patient and attentive. We had such incredible food and incredible service. We lived in the New Orleans area for 8 years and never made it here before now, as we're back visiting after almost a decade. It's very sad we didn't make it here when we lived in the area, but when we come back, Antoine's is now a non-negotiable. Thank you for a delicious meal and an incredible experience.

    Excellent service from Susan. She allowed us plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely meal while still being very attentive. We ordered drinks and the Boudin & Grits appetizer. My wife's Woodford Reserve on the rocks was a generous pour. The bonding was full of flavor, and combined with the other ingredients was quite amazing. Next, we ordered the Crabmeat Maison. Wow, a large portion of outstanding lump crabmeat served with crackers and cocktail sauce. Both small plates were enough to split. We split the smoked short rib entre. We probably could have each had our own, but we were still satisfied. The smokiness was wonderful. It was served over Butternut squash with black-eyed peas and cranberries. Again, an excellent and unique combination of flavors. We will definitely return on our next visit to New Orleans.
