In 1983, after the success of La Calle Doce, Oscar and Laura Sanchez wanted to open another restaurant but they didn’t want to duplicate their previous success nor did they want to open just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Oscar wanted something that wasn’t found in Dallas, something that reminded him of home. Since both Oscar and Laura are from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Northern Mexico, they decided to open a restaurant that specialized in Comida Norteño (northern food) and Tex-Mex featuring dishes such as cabrito, mollejas, and asado de puerco. Today El Ranchito is known for it’s authentic Mexican food, freshly made tortillas and festive atmosphere where mariachis play daily. These elements – the food, the music and the friendly staff – have helped El Ranchito achieve it’s ultimate goal of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels as if they are back home in Monterrey.

Certainly! Here’s a glowing 5-star review for Dakota’s Steakhouse in Dallas: 5 Stars Dakota’s Steakhouse is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Dallas! From the moment you descend into their stunning underground location, you’re greeted with an ambiance that is both elegant and inviting. The service was impeccable—our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. As for the food, every bite was perfection. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, tender and flavorful, with a sear that could only come from true culinary expertise. The sides, especially the truffle mac and cheese and the mash potatoes, were the perfect complements. Dakota’s is more than a meal; it’s an experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in a luxurious dinner, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our dinner immensely. Our server, Itzuri, was attentive, friendly, and an overall joy. We never waited for anything. Everyone in the restaurant was on top of ensuring everything was enjoyable. The view was stunning and added to a terrific dining experience. I ordered the salmon steak and it was good! The blue crab in the middle was delicious. My husband ordered the rib cap and it was heavenly. It was cooked perfectly and was a delicious cut of meat. We got a flight of sides and the macaroni has a great flavor and the onion rings were yummy in the pretzel crust. The mushrooms were just okay. They were lacking much flavor. We enjoyed the yummy warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Overall, a great evening. Would definitely visit again!

The ambience in the restaurant was amazing. The service we received from start to finish was great. Our server was Christopher and manager was Brazil and they went above and beyond to ensure that my mom and I had a wonderful experience. They suggested entrée and drink items that did not miss. My mom had the salmon with curry and rice. She really enjoyed it. I had the crab fried rice, which was extremely flavorful. The drinks were great. I will definitely be visiting again soon with family and friends. The location was good. We’re able to park and get in and out quickly

A very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere in the first floor dining room. We ate here before going to a play. The food was great, we loved the appetizers. The potstickers were exceptional as was the crab cake. We also enjoyed the coffee. May be the best we have had at restaurant in Dallas. The service was attentive but not rushed. We visited the rooftop where it was louder and bit more festive. It was the best of both worlds! Quiet and relaxing for a date downstairs and great upstairs for drinks with friends. The menu is served in both places with a Happy Hour menu upstairs. We will be back.

Sweet Jesus! This place was soooooo good. We stumbled on here actually when where we were planning to go was close. From the entrance, the hostess was friendly and kind. We were quickly seated and almost immediately greeted by our waiter. The food was phenomenal! My husband and I are both from the islands and have come to expect subpar jerk food at best however this place outdid themselves. Literally our new favorite spot in Deep Ellum. The drinks were phenomenal and the service even better. To top everything off, there are some cute backdrops in different parts of the restaurant that make it Instagram worthy. 10/10
