Price: Expensive•Modern Australian•4.5(962)At Old Wharf, we stand in the historical location of former jetties, piers, homes and taverns from where, since the 1800s colourful traders, merchandisers, exporters and explorers have shipped Tassie’s renowned produce across the globe.
Chef Simon Pockran and his team acknowledge this history by creating a menu that celebrates and explores Tasmania’s traditional family dishes. Reimagined and refined, this menu gives the nod to our past while championing our celebrated produce and boutique Tasmania growers.

Service by attentive staff was most appreciated. It is a must visit for anyone visiting Hobart.More infoAmaranta Grill and BarPrice: Moderate• Indian• North Hobart•4.8

- JJaneTasmania •1 review4.0Dined on 15 Feb 2025This is a beautiful setting, the views are great and restaurant has been beautifully styled. The savory food was very good and the cake tower was lovely. Some small improvements would be use leaf tea, rather than tea bags and also the staff need to check on the tables more regularly. The staff were very lovely, but you needed to catch their eye to come over. Overall was a very good experience.More infoAURA HobartPrice: Expensive• Australian• Hobart City Centre•4.3
- HMHeidiMNew York City •3 reviews4.0Dined on 14 Feb 2025The food was amazing. Service wasn’t the best. They set us at the wrong table for our set menu Valentine’s Day dinner. We ended up seated in the middle of the restaurant and was basically ignored after they sat us down. Finally got their attention and lots of apologies about seating us in the wrong area. They quickly moved us to the correct table in a more secluded part of the restaurant but then took forever to bring out drinks and didn’t really ask for any additional drinks order. We had the seafood platter and it was incredible so no faulting the quality of the food. I’m not sure it the correct ambience for what they are trying to achieve with the decor. It looks like a place where it would be great for a date night but I would say it is not. More of a hotel restaurant eatery vibe, if you are seated in the main restaurant, tables are close together so you are right next to the people next to you and it’s noisy. I’d go back for a business lunch type meal but probably not for another date night. Considering they had taken the trouble of doing a special menu for Valentine’s Day, I think the lack of attention to detail let the whole experience down.More infoBelvederePrice: Moderate• Modern Australian• Hobart City Centre•4.2
