- EEmilyPortland / Oregon •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoTwice a year some old friends from Chicago visit their son & his family in Portland, and we always meet halfway (I live in Newport) for lunch while they're in Oregon. Over the years we've gone to many of the fine vineyards & restaurants in the wine country but always gravitate back around to Dundee Bistro, not only for its fine cuisine but also for its stylish yet comfortable ambience, its seating options (we like to be outdoors in summer, by the fireplace in winter), and its attentive but never intrusive service.More infoDundee BistroPrice: Expensive• Bistro• Dundee•4.5

The wine selections were all local (in fact, the winemaker of the wine we chose was there for dinner the same evening)! The chef comes around and chats with his customers in a kind and fun manner. And the FOOD! Absolutely delicious! Perfectly prepared and timed beautifully!More infoCuvee OregonPrice: Very Expensive• French• Carlton•4.8

Discover Carlton
The Willamette Valley is known by many as a lush treasure trove of wineries and orchards, and Carlton, a small town affectionately termed "Pinot Paradise," lives up to the region's hype. Boasting more the 20 wine tasting rooms in less than three city blocks, the town is a gastronomic paradise. Dining options are varied, and venues serving hearty American classics, delicate chocolates and bountiful baked goods are always open. Quirky, pun-based names are the norm for many coffee and espresso houses in the community that can be gathering places as much as spots to savor a coffee drink or pastry choice. Dining establishments such as a market and deli combo or farm-to-fork place doubling as a farmer's pantry provide a focus on locally raised meats, vegetables and other produce, highlighting the freshest ingredients.
