- MMikeOrange County •9 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoI come to Hell's Kitchen regularly when I am staying at the Harrah's resort san Diego. Normally we have a fantastic experience. We started with scallops. My girlfriend had the skin on salmon and I ordered the filet mignon. Everything was good but my steak which I ordered cooked medium rare came out medium well to well done. Not terrible, but definitely over cooked for my preference. Hence the 4 stars for food. Our server was Alicia and she was great. The only other disappointment was that it was very noisy and hard to have a conversation over the background din. We'll be back and use open table for our reservations next time.More infoHell's Kitchen - Harrah's Resort Southern CaliforniaPrice: Very Expensive• American• Valley Center•4.5

Discover Julian
San Diego County's mountain getaway, Julian, is just about an hour from the city but a lifetime away with its gold rush history and quaint shops and inns. Old-fashioned American comfort food is one of Julian's hallmarks. Downtown Julian is the place for apple pie, cider, and barbecue, along with Italian pizza and Mexican specialties served in both casual and more formal settings. Both lodges and beds and breakfasts serve hearty American-style lunches and dinners. Farther along Highway 78, you'll find new food options, including a food hall housing locally-made cider tastings, local wine tastings, Mexican tacos, and Italian pizza. If your heart desires fresh-brewed coffee made from locally-roasted beans and a slice of apple pie made from just-picked apples, Julian's several downtown bakeries and cafes will fulfill that wish.
