Discover Winchester
Winchester exemplifies the best of being a small city sharing a county with a large, famous city: They get the best from St. Louis while enjoying a slower, more laid-back pace. That said, its size doesn’t keep it from embracing the best of world cuisine while keeping the American classics close to its heart (and stomach). You’ll have to drive about 5 minutes to reach these delicious dishes, but the short drive is worth it. Vegetarians and lovers of Mediterranean dishes can spoil themselves on zesty tahini salad and savory grape leaves. For fans of Thai, shrimp salads and green curry keep things light and flavorful. For those who prefer Midwest Americana meals, twice-fried chicken wings and onion ring-covered cowboy burgers use fresh ingredients to hit the spot.
