Discover Los Osos
A charming beach community nestled between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay, Los Osos is light on fine dining but features a number of cafes and other eateries offering varied menus. Hamburgers are popular in the area and come with toppings ranging from fried eggs to jalapenos and Cajun spices. Lighter fare includes Reubens and other classic sandwiches as well as a local favorite: the New Mexican grilled cheese. It is made with cheddar cheese, green chilies, grilled onions, a tomato, and cilantro on grilled sourdough bread. Ethnic eateries in Los Osos offer Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican, which are especially well-represented in the area. They serve up flavorful albondigas, chicken pozole, and tangy ceviche.
