- KKristynSan Diego •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThis place was beautiful and the service was spectacular. I’d say it’s a lil too pricey for what you get though. I’ve had high tea at other places that were around $30-$40 and had more stuff whereas this place (while yes it was good) was $64 per person for a few slices of bread, tarts, crumpets, and one tea selection. On top of that, you have to pay to get into the Huntington. I still rate it five stars cause it was a beautiful and calm experience, but again just a bit overpriced.More infoThe Huntington's Rose Garden Tea RoomPrice: Very Expensive• Afternoon Tea• South Pasadena•4.7

- HHectorLos Angeles •3 reviews5.0Dined on 28 Nov 2024If you're craving authentic Japanese food, Shin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Men-Ya in Alhambra is a must-visit! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with an authentic vibe that transports you straight to Japan. I started with their famous Japanese meat skewers—absolutely delicious! The yakitori was perfectly grilled, with just the right amount of char and tenderness. The flavors were spot-on, and each skewer was a delightful burst of savory goodness. Next, I had the ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a great depth that comes from hours of careful preparation. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings (from soft-boiled eggs to tender slices of pork) really elevated the dish. It's easily one of the best ramen bowls I've had. To round out the meal, I enjoyed a glass of cold sake. It was smooth and refreshing, a perfect complement to the meal. Overall, everything was great. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly without sacrificing quality. Whether you're a fan of yakitori or ramen, this place does it right. I’ll definitely be back for more!More infoShin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Men-Ya - AlhambraPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Alhambra•4.7

Discover Alhambra
Alhambra blends rich California history from the days before statehood with a vibrant, diverse community, resulting in some of the most delicious dining in the west San Gabriel Valley. Soda fountains and diners with Hollywood-style leather booths and long soda counters serve up classic mid-century American foods from homemade ice cream sodas and floats to burgers topped only with pickles and onions - hold the cheese. Nearby are restaurants specializing in several types of Asian cuisine. Bring a crowd to share spicy seafood served family-style or Korean barbecue cooked at your table. Alhambra also boasts several classic Chinese, Taiwanese and Vietnamese restaurants ranging from simple storefront locations to large food palaces devoted to elaborate meals.
