Munising Restaurants

The city of Munising is unique because of its location right on Lake Superior. It's the perfect place to try some fresh Great Lakes fish. One of the most common offerings is Lake Superior whitefish, usually smoked over a hardwood fire and served whole. Another unique food that can be found in the area is the pasty, pronounced "pass-tee." Pasties are a half-moon shaped pockets baked with an outside pastry shell, and the inside is stuffed with ground beef and root vegetables like carrots, rutabaga, and potatoes. It is typically only seasoned with salt and pepper and served with gravy or ketchup. Munising offers many types of family restaurants, taverns and brewing companies, and fine dining establishments as well.
