The menu offered a nice variety which included some Italian favorites you always want to see and some of their own specialties. They also had some really tasty appetizer and dinner specials. The service was fantastic- prompt, friendly and professional. (Thank you, Sasha!) BYOB is super convenient. Next time we will save room for the delicious desserts. Looking forward to coming back!! - AANNAPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined on 8 Nov 2024Good atmosphere, tasty food. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of dining at a Gamarjoba restaurant that transported us straight to the heart of Georgia. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a cozy evening. We started with Khinkali. Each dumpling was crafted with care, and the flavors were rich and satisfying. We also tried Imeretian cheese, a mild and creamy delight that paired wonderfully with the rest of our meal. To accompany our dishes, we enjoyed a bottle of Kindzmarauli, a traditional red Georgian wine with a fruity, slightly sweet taste that balanced well with the flavors of the food. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu and making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. For anyone looking to explore authentic Georgian flavors, this restaurant is a must-visit. We left feeling not only full but also inspired by the wonderful Georgian culinary tradition.More infoRestaurant GamarjobaPrice: Expensive• Georgian• Far Northeast Philadelphia•4.8

My recommendation would be to forget an entree and just order many appetizers and salads. A lot to choose from. I went over the menu 4 times before we went or we would still be there waiting to order.More infoSamarkand Steak HousePrice: Expensive• Uzbek• Feasterville•4.6

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
