Mathew Sayer who now is General Manager was always working hard to do his best for the guests. We came this year again and I brought my son and his family (5 grandkids). When I entered the hotel I could tell things had changed. Too many details to list in this review. Suffice it to say the Willcox is transformed into the Southern gem of hospitality and ambience one would expect. While the time at the restaurant began quietly, the noise level was fairly high by 7:30 pm. Our food was tasty and well-prepared. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and polite. There is a full bar and a thorough wine selection, but only one of us had alcohol this evening. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Our server, Will, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, making our evening feel special from start to finish. The food was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had in Augusta. The Brussels sprouts were roasted to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with incredible flavor in every bite. The scallops were cooked flawlessly—perfectly tender and seasoned just right. And to top it all off, the crème brûlée was simply divine—smooth, creamy, and with the perfect caramelized top. Perfect temperature and seasoning and the truffle fries are incredible. Brussel sprouts a bit too sweet for my liking.
