In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? Kai Haw Bai Toey - deep fried marinated chicken in pandanus leaves, Kaeng Kiew Warn Kai - chicken in green curry soup, also recommended the Nipa platter - a selection of the chef's special Thai starters.

    Good food, nice environment - we will be back! The Google page give 2 ££, however this restaurant is more on the expensive-side. But the food is nicely presented and tastes good.

    As we had several of our party unfamiliar with Thai food we chose one of their set menus which gave us a platter of 4 starters followed by 4 mains, Phad Thai and rice then a very nice coconut ice cream to finish. Very attentive friendly, service and the food was plentiful and extremely tasty

    Fantastic restaurant, the food was amazing!! Everything was delicious and the service was very good. Certainly one the best Thai restaurants I've visited and I will definitely be returning.

    Nipa Thai was a lovely place to eat. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were perfect, the atmosphere was great, and the room was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend to a friend and will be going back soon!

    We came here for valentine's and had the set menu, every dish was so good, well presented and full of flavour. The staff were extremely nice and helpful and put a custom valentines message on my girlfriend dessert 🥰 10/10 We will be doing a food blog on IG and Tiktok tomorrow: Nishandmarv ✨

    The welcome from their staff was warm and inviting. The food was delectable. We sampled new things on the menu. We would not normally have done soap. Everything was delicious. The lychee martini was not to be missed!!
