    Food was outstanding as always. We tried different things this time. The crab cakes were amazing! The vegetarian sandwich was very good and the butternut squash appetizer was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever eaten. The bread pudding was delicious. Our server was a little bit curt and it was our anniversary. It was in the reservation. The server wished us a happy anniversary when she first approached us and that was it. I didn’t want anything free…but if they had done something at the end of the meal to acknowledge our special night, would have been appreciated. We will return over and again-we love the Old Ebbitt Grill, but this time it had a different feel.

    First time here. Fortunately we had reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered a variety of dishes including a dozen oysters, George’s scallops. The meatloaf was great. The short ribs were very tender and the veggies it was served with complimented them. We had to pass on the desserts although they sounded wonderful and eneded with cappuccino Great to read about Ebbitt history and see some of the decor

    We have been to Old Ebbitt Grill and were excited to visit again. This time we were in a group of 7 and were seated outside the main restaurant in an atrium (felt like a shopping mall). The ambiance was very different in this area compared to inside the restaurant. Our waitress was very kind and seemed good, but she disappeared for long periods of time. Our meal took over 3 hours and didn’t need to take that long. The food and drinks were all very good, but we were disappointed with the experience this time.

    As usual, the food/service was great. We were disappointed to be seated in a hallway behind the restaurant (overflow seating) after making our reservation 5 months in advance
