The seven fishes prefix meal was amazing and our waiter Matt was truly incredible, accommodating, informative and attentive.

We came here on a last minute reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Antonio, was great! He was knowledgeable about the menu and wine. The rest of the serving team was awesome too, promptly clearing dishes and replacing silverware. The food was pretty good, I loved the Rigatoni with short rib. The Caesar salad was ok, the portion size was good. I thought the caprese appetizer was good, but the tomatoes and moz were both too cold for my taste. Overall I think the value is great for downtown Chicago and I’d definitely come back.

We've had takeout from here before, but we wanted to try the dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the meatballs as an appetizer. They were fabulous. We also enjoyed two pasta main course dishes-- the penne/chicken and short ribs. Both were outstanding. Highly recommend!

Osteria Via Stato will forever be one of our favorite places! The food is always superb, the service is always impeccable, and the ambiance makes you feel like you're in Italy even though you are on State Street in Chicago. Amazing venue for events as well!
