   First time there for new years . It was outstanding ! The whole experience was flawless from service , staff assistance with reservations to the execution of menu. Will be going back for next new years . Thank you for making a great night .

   We went for the NYE experience and thought overall it was fantastic! The only thing that would have made the whole experience better was the timing of the pre fixed menu. We spent a long time waiting for each item, however the wait was definitely worth it.

   Pasta Moon did not disappoint! It's been a while since I've dined there but still just as good and worth every penny as the last time I've been in. We were seated at a high top by the bar which was fine. However, there were patrons at the bar that regularly used our table for their drinks, food, coats etc. We as well as another couple requested to sit elsewhere so we could enjoy our meal and time with family/loved ones. The staff made up for this by finding a spot elsewhere mid meal and transferred plates/drinks. If you are going for a special occasion or during a holiday event keep this in mind.

   We visited Pasta Moon for their New Year’s Eve dinner - it was wonderful! The quality and taste of everything was fantastic and we appreciated the waiter helping us select wines to go with it.

   We spent New Years Eve at Pasta Moon and it was amazing! The decorations/ambience was beautiful and festive, the menu was incredible, and the food was delicious! It was a perfect evening! Highly recommend and will be back next year!

   New Years Eve Birthday Special: My family helped me celebrate my birthday at my favorite restaurant, Pasta Moon in Half Moon Bay. Since it was New Year's Eve, there was a special menu. The four of us ordered a variety of dishes, including an appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert. I began with the short rib bone marrow, which was absolutely delicious. My pan-seared filet mignon was exceptional, accompanied by Gruyère whipped potatoes, porcini mushrooms, and a Barolo reduction. I savored every single bite. My family sampled a variety of dishes, and everyone loved each one. It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday, surrounded by family and enjoying the best food money could buy.

   Our third visit here, and it was a disappointment, nothing like the fabulous experience we had the first two times. Something has gone off the rails, they used to be a well oiled machine. We spent 2 hours there, and at least 45 minutes of that time was waiting for our food or our waiter, 30 minutes from when we finished our appetizers until the main course. They seemed to be short-staffed. The food lacked the wow factor that had made it our favorite destination restaurant until now. Shrinkflation was evident, and the flavors and presentation was uninspired. Thankfully, the lasagna remained a tasty and huge portion. Another observation - we saw a host/maitre d’ type of person that we hadn’t seen on our previous visits. He was actively roaming the restaurant shmoozing with the diners and helping out here and there. When he came into the Terrace Room where we were seated, he chatted with the tables on either side of us, didn’t even acknowledge us even though we looked bored waiting for our food. I’m not sure what to make of this, or his role in the restaurant. Compare this review with my previous one. We suspect some changes in ownership/management or staff. Regardless, we are hesitant to return.

    We had a delightful family dinner at Pasta Moon with our 92-year-old grandfather, and it couldn’t have been more special. Italian cuisine is his favorite, yet this was his first time visiting Pasta Moon—and he absolutely loved it! He ordered the puttanesca, featuring mussels, clams, and scallops, which put a unique and delicious twist on the traditional dish. Another standout was the lasagna, which was a big hit with our group. The portions were incredibly generous, and the service was impeccable—the staff made sure we always had everything we needed. It’s clear why this restaurant has been a beloved favorite for so many years. Pasta Moon truly delivers a memorable dining experience!
