   Although it is known for its meat / grills etc I had the swordfish as a main with scallops as a starter. Both were excellent

   The food was very good, service was friendly. But the place is just too noisy for a conversation / business meal. I have to add we had a late lunch and were reseated at my request as a result of which the noise level was bearable but I wouldn't go back at prime time.

   Asked what we wanted to drink before we sat down at the table. Servers required to memorise the order but took 3 attempts before writing it down. No worries about finishing meal within the time slot as within 50 mins 2 courses had been delivered and the 4th person was asking us what we wanted for dessert. The steak is good but at these prices you want a meal to last longer than a trip to Nando’s

   It was about half full and everyone was placed on one side of the restaurant i expect to give the feeling of it being busy. However, this did mean it was difficult to hold conversations as it was very loud and felt crowded just because of how they had seated us. There was plenty of staff on, but they were not attentive or paying attention most of the time, once you got someone’s attention, they were great. We sat for around 10 minutes before being asked for drinks and had to chase them after 20 minutes (the drinks hadn’t arrived) to place the food order. However, the food was really nice the pork chops were a good size, and the steak was cooked to perfection. It was a little harsh that there was only one vegetarian option on the menu and no vegan options, luckily I understand the vegetable pot pie was nice. We had to chase to order more drinks and even water for the table so it really was the service which let them down, if they had been more attentive I think they would have doubled the check size. Would probably go again but only for a personal visit and not for a catch up with colleagues.

   Booked for a business dinner. In general it was a positive experience - staff were attentive. What pulled down the rating for me was that my steak was extremely overdone, to the point of being inedible. Now to be fair I asked for medium to well, but it came out significantly past well done. Seems like it was just me, so hopefully a one-off.

   This is the place if you are looking for great steak in a casual and lively environment. We landed at Paternoster after a week filled with all the ethnic foods and found this perfect spot for more traditional food. The ribeye was on point. The separate sides lacked some selection on the veggie side, but the mash potatoes and fries were good. The comments from our table said it was the best meal of the week. I agree.
