I started in my grandfather’s restaurant & worked my way up to running one of the most successful restaurants in NYC - Patsy’s Italian Restaurant. My grandfather worked his way up in the restaurant industry in the 1930's and '40s and in 1942 opened his first Italian restaurant, The Sorrento. When it came time to name our new restaurant, we decided on IL Sorrento in honor of my grandfather. I know my grandparents & my mom are smiling down on us with approval. I've lived in Westchester since 1984 & have always dreamed about opening an Italian restaurant here .. now the dream is a reality. Sensational dining experience. The food was outstanding; particularly the salads, steaks and sides. Huge portions, quality ingredients, top-drawer preparation and all well-priced. The service was outstanding. We never felt rushed. All our questions were answered professionally, courteously and to our satisfaction. As for ambiance, the music was a bit too loud and monotonous, but, unlike most restaurants today, you could certainly carry on a conversation with no difficulty. All in all, we had a throughly great meal at One Rare. We will certainly return.
