Best Restaurants for Anniversaries in Evanston

Tuesday, 03/11/2025 Linda Park, West Chicago Tonight marks the culmination of our Chicago adventure, and I've made reservations on OpenTable for French cuisine at Mon Ami Gabi, a testament to exceptional dining. Mon Ami Gabi has three locations: - Bethesda, Maryland - Lincoln Park, Chicago - Las Vegas, NV (Paris Hotel & Casino) I've had the privilege of experiencing two out of the three locations. This location is nestled in Highland Park inside the luxury Belen-Stratford Building, exuding refinement. The evening commenced at the front host, where we were warmly welcomed by a friendly host. We were promptly seated by the window, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. We were greeted by a remarkably attentive waitress named Liz. The ambiance was nothing short of perfection! The music was fitting, crafting an enchanting atmosphere. All of our appetizers and entrees were a culinary masterpiece. I had the pleasure of ordering the specials: - Duck A L’Orange, expertly prepared to perfection. The duck was savory, the meat was tender, and the sauce was truly sublime! - Hanger Steaks for both of my colleagues, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Appetizers: - Melted Brie - Escargots De Bourgogne - Warmed baguettes Desserts: - Crème Brûlée Wine: - Two glasses of Red Bordeaux Whenever you have the opportunity to visit the Mon Ami Gabi establishment, seize it, and your palate will be eternally grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, a true gem that will leave you in awe.

We went there for my wife’s birthday. Service, drinks and entrées were great. I had the moussaka which was one of the best I’ve ever had and my wife had the Bronzino which she said it was very flavorful. I told them ahead of time it was my wife’s birthday. They brought us what they called a “cheesecake“ with a candle in it. I believe they call it some type of Greek cheesecake. I hate to say this but it was inedible. Not good at all. We wound up ordering gelato instead which was delicious. But I was surprised when they charged us $14 for the birthday cheesecake which was never communicated to me. Don’t get me wrong, this place is really really good. But I would avoid the “birthday cheesecake” and they should’ve communicated that they were charging us $14 for it.

Our experience at Aboyer was outstanding. Our waiter was aware of our time frame and frequently checked back with us to make sure we were within the required time frame. We purchased drinks, appetizers and desserts from the Happy Hour Menu. The food was excellent. We were seated in the private dining room. It is a beautiful space. We look forward to returning to Aboyer.

We always eat in Capital Grill Old Orchard and we are always happy with the service and the food and a ambiance so I recommend to everybody. Service is good. Food is good. One of the best steakhouses in Chicago. 

Everything was so delicious.. compliments to the chef ! It’s great place for a date night. We’ll be back!!
