Best Authentic Restaurants in Detroit

Great restaurant - the food is always fresh and some of the best pizza, salad, & gelato around. Definitely recommend!

We came with my family and I was pleased at the menu choices. Everyone found something they liked which is not an easy task. The food was delicious. The wait staff was very helpful. We will definitely come back.

Good food and service especially on Valentine’s Day! Noise level is always loud but that’s to be expected in a Mexican restaurant

My college roommate form early 80's and I started reviewing restaurants in the Metro Detroit Area 4 years ago. We have hit 80% of all the top restaurants (over 120) and we both consider Café' Cortina in our top 2-3 restaurants. I am not sure that I would take children under 14 there, only because of the complexity of the menu/food, and it seems like most of the servers have strong accents that are not always easy to understand. With that said I love going there about every 4-5 weeks and trying something different each time. Last night I had lamb chops. They may have been the best I have ever had. I savored every bite. I have had lamb chops at many nice restaurants. There pasta's are all made in house and are always exciting to try a different one. Make sure you save room for desert, as their pastry chef makes some very unique and tasty treats. This is probably one of the least known restaurants in Metro Detroit, a hidden gem for sure.

They don't accept reservations on open table however they had tables available anyways so no wait but i wouldn't make any reservations on here without calling the store to confirm
