- OTOpenTable DinerVIPNew York City •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoWe visited the Black Whale on Valentine’s Day. We had a reservation for 6:30 and were seated at 7:00. The place was mobbed so we anticipated a delay. Once we were seated, we were given 2 glasses of champagne for the delay which was totally unexpected. It was a very nice gesture. Our server Amy was exceptional. She was so pleasant and professional. All the staff were top notch and pleasant. We started with the boom boom shrimp which were delicious with a nice kick. I had the steak frites and it was perfection. It’s always an exceptional cut and cooked just the way I like it. My husband ordered the lobster thermidor which he said was delicious. If you’re up for a delicious dinner with exceptional service, this is the place.More infoThe Black WhalePrice: Expensive• Seafood• New Bedford•4.8

- AAdaVIPGreater Boston •19 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThe food, the ambience, and the service is ALWAYS incredibly good. Going to Bocca is like going home - always welcoming and always warm and wonderful! If I were allowed one suggestion it would be: please ask people to refrain from talking on or engaging their cell phones while dining. There was a person near me who was dining alone. His entire time was spent watching rather loud videos. While I requested that the server ask him to lower the volume, it was disruptive nonetheless. Perhaps it’s just the way or the world…. The meal was still fabulous!More infoBOCCAPrice: Moderate• Italian• Fairhaven•4.8
- CChristineGreater Boston •3 reviews4.0Dined on 1 Jan 2025We dined there on NYE. They had an available reservation earlier in the evening so we thought we would try it. Molly was our server and she was the only server that night. She was hustling. I had the shrimp Mozambique. It was good but different with potatoes and rice. We also had a lobster roll but too many claws. My husband did not love it. My daughter had the baked scallops and she liked them. Kale soup was yummy . Drinks were ok. The dinner was pricey in my opinion. The place is probably better to visit in the summer. This is being picky but I liked to have a glass of water shortyly after being seated.More infoCove Surf and TurfPrice: Moderate• Seafood• New Bedford•4.7
