Abacá is an airy, atelier-style restaurant with a cool outdoor terrace, whipping up Filipino-Californian cuisine with flair in Fisherman's Wharf. It's the bricks-and-mortar spin off of chef Francis Ang's pop-up Pinoy Heritage. The lively menu is split up into barbecue sticks, noodles and rice, and small to big plates, but its far more nuanced than just that. Flavourful dishes pull from family recipes and are glazed with modern and heritage technique to result in a vibrancy that's hard to come by. It's grounded by local produce. Smoked Bay scallops lead in the seafood pancit, heirloom tomatoes top homemade tinapay bread, chicken skin is glazed in an adobe before hitting the grill and guinea fowl comes slathered with peanut sauce. A truncated list of creative Southeast Asian libations bring it full circle – if you're on the terrace, cool off with the Baguio breeze slushy – a dreamy mix of pandan-infused vodka, coconut and strawberry.

Hi Neighbor!At Trestle, we remember a time, not too long ago, where people took pause to enjoy a meal in the presence of great company, giving it the reverence and respect deserved.     I love that the evening simply unfolds for you with no decisions to be made. Each course was a surprise and delight. The chef is creative and really focuses on extracting the most flavor from each bite. The service is always excellent. It always amazes me that we can have this type of meal pre-ballet without feeling overly rushed.

    Fantastic! Honestly, one of the best dining experience I've ever had. I wish I remembered the name of our waiter but he was the best, jovial, patient, not stuffy. We wanted a somewhat protracted dinner b/c we had a lot of catching up to do and he was great about letting the evening flow. Food was impeccable. Presentation was flawless. Filet perfectly seared. Coming back again for sure

    My husband and I look forward to dining at Gary Danko for special occasions. We dined on Saturday Feb 15th (early dinner).This was our 4th time and every time the food is fantastic (best in the city) and the service is exceptional! What a great dining experience each time we have been there. On the menu, my favorite is the risotto. My husband favorite is the ahi tuna. As far as cocktails go, the espresso martini is a must have. So kudos to the hostess, bartender, and waiters! You are all 5 stars!

    Laura and Sayat have done something really special here. The attention to detail is evident in every dish, beverage, service and decor. There really is no other restaurant In SF I can compare it to. Bravo!
