Best Japanese Restaurants in Louisville

The sushi was delicious, my favorite was the beef tataki, with the dipping sauce, it was a perfect 10! Make sure to order the brussel sprouts. They have a great selection of craft cocktails and my cocktail did not dissapoint, yumm! Loved the jellyfish aquarium and the lively environment. It was a festive vibe but we could easily carry on a conversation. We celebrated a birthday there and they have truffle deserts from a pastry chef made in-house, which were a complementary birthday treat with a candle, a nice touch.

The sushi is always great. Service was as needed, not overly in our face. Perfect for our group. The attention to the needs of people with allergies is wonderful. They have GF Tamari, which is awesome. I usually carry individual packets with me but sometimes I’m out. Never a concern at Hapa. Love it there.

Over all it was good. The food is what I would expect at hibachi.

Went on Valentine’s Day for dinner. As expected the place was super packed and really backed up which lead to some very upset customers. Throughout all that chaos the servers remained extremely friendly and hustled hard. Food was phenomenal and we greatly appreciated our experience.

I had the grilled salmon teriyaki. My husband had sushi. Everything was very good. I didn't realize that the salmon came with rice, vegetables and salad, so it was pretty filling. The wine and cocktails were very good. The server was very attentive...just the right amount. The only negative was that it was cold outside and whenever the door opened, it brought in a draft. Our table was closest to the door. Next time, I'll ask for a different spot.
