Best Contemporary Italian Restaurants in Clerkenwell

2nd time visitor and will be a 3rd, 4th, 5th (you get the idea) soon. Took a friend, it was his 1st time and he will be back too (with his Italian better-half) Staff great, attentive and knowledgable, food... stunning. Great job.

A quick lunch with limited time to enjoy the menu. We both had the pasta and smoked salmon which was very nice, a good size, plenty of sauce with it and good flavour. All good on the food and plenty of options to suit all tastes as well- meat, vegetarian, pizza etc The restaurant itself is lovely, nice and light, supported by a friendly and helpful team. My visit was a Tuesday lunchtime so maybe not the best time to experience the restaurant running at full pace, hence the 4 stars. Definitely somewhere I'll visit again, thank you

Definitely worth it. The mains are really good and tasteful. The only thing is that I think the portion size could be a bit more.

Fantastic meal and service at Macellaio RC Soho last night. We had a Virgin voucher for 2 courses plus Prosecco. The food was fantastic we had ravioli and a cheese burger with circular crimped “chips” plus Tiramisu and a beautifully presented rose filigree pastry apple “pie” with sauce. Everything tasted beautiful and authentic. Service was excellent friendly attentive and efficient. Staff knew we were catching a train later and speeded up a bit. The restaurant was full before our 6.30pm booking so we had a stroll and seat outside for 15 mins. I would definitely return with friends and family. Ideally located on Shaftesbury Avenue in between two theatres. Other diners were eating huge shared platters of beautifully cooked meat, and everyone looked very happy, as were we.

Second time back here. Magnificent dining room, good space between tables not too busy, just right. Our server was attentive and very affable, easy going. Food as last time was amazing. We came for a weekend trip from Toronto ON Canada, and this place is now on our "have to do" list every time we come over.
