Best British Restaurants in Warlingham

Great Sunday roast with freshly prepared food. New owners are making this pub into a new favourite for us. There was also a really good live singer at just the right volume as background music and gave the place a lovely atmosphere. Good to see The Wattenden thriving and busy.

The Ivy is a beautiful restaurant however I will not be going on Valentine’s Day again. They shoved me and my husband on a tiny table in the upstairs function room which had be utilized for additional tables where I cut myself on a tree behind me. We felt rushed and there wasn’t enough room between the tables which made for a manic feeling. Food as always phenomenal and the staff did the best they could even though we had a different waiter for each course and they all seemed very overwhelmed nd tired.

I went for lunch with a friend. The menu was varied and innovative. There were classic dishes and interesting variations such as Halloumi curry, which had wonderful flavours that popped in ones mouth. As a starter I had a very interesting anchovy dish which was a true delight of smoky and sea, reminiscent of holidays in Portugal. For dessert I went old school and enjoyed a treacle tart..mmm. We shall certainly return 🥰

Although the management of The Bakery has changed, the table settings and service were still a high standard. There was less choice of menu options, but quality was still a good standard. In conclusion, a relaxing evening with friends.
