So you ask why Wanda Byob? Wanda Pollyana Boos/Lipot was my Mother and my inspiration to become a Chef. Wanda was an amazing cook who actually had some serious training in her country of Trinidad and Tobago. In fact, one of my most prized mementos is my mother's... her cooking manual from Naparima Girls High School in Trinidad. What started as my mother's inspiration many years ago has turned into a career that I love and am very proud of. So here I am, my mother's son, who has spent 38 years in the kitchen, perfecting my craft. I now want to share what I've learned with all of you in a place I can call my own.With the help of my wonderfully supportive wife, Gilda and my wonderful family behind me, I look forward to what's to come.     Our server Brandon made our experience exceptional. He provided us with food and drink recommendations and did not steer us wrong. Two of us at our table immensely enjoyed the Romarin specialty cocktail. Four of us shared three hors d’ouevres - the charcuterie, the mushroom tart and the crispy artichokes along with the beet salad. The serving sizes of each were perfect for the 4 of us to share. Our water glasses were continually refilled and the service was excellent. Two at our table had the Saturday special - poultry feuillete - an elevated chicken pot pie with mushrooms and black truffle oil. I sampled the special and the sauce was superb! I ordered the Moules Frites and another had the veal escalope. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the atmosphere and didn’t feel rushed. The interior of the restaurant was decorated for the holidays and it was a warm, welcoming environment. We completed our meal by sharing the moelleux au chocolat - a warm chocolate cake with hazelnuts and praline sorbet…delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere.

    Tabula Gardens is magical from the second you find the sign pointing you along the outdoor seating to enter the restaurant. Everyone is there to ensure that you are enjoying a wonderful experience. Every morsel of food was flavored to provide a symphony of delight. I can't say enough about the service and how they make you feel so special. Joseph, our lead server, made sure everything that arrived was to our liking. He is such a extraordinary server! The food was amazing! I cannot wait to return to Philly, so I can experience the wonders of Talula's Garden.
