- SSarahWarwickshire •3 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoMy parents were down for the weekend and we needed somewhere nice for Sunday lunch. We live in the Cotswolds but had never been here. It did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The fire was on and the pub had a great atmosphere. We all had the Sunday roasts. The beef was cooked to perfection and was extremely soft and tasty. Crispy roast potatoes but not overdone. Great portion size and the Yorkshire puddings were the size of baby’s head! You made my Father’s Day when he asked if there was any crackling left and the waitress came back with a little plateful! :) Would definitely recommend, especially as all food is sourced locally. Thank you for a very pleasant couple of hours.More infoThe Horse and Groom InnPrice: Expensive• Pub• Stow-on-the-Wold•4.7

- VVanyaGloucestershire/Wiltshire •6 reviews5.0Dined on 10 Nov 2024Sunday lunch after a lovely dog walk. The main restaurant/bar area was packed but we had a table in the back restaurant room which was otherwise empty and suited us fine. Our weary spaniel curled up on the floor. The waitress was super friendly and attentive even though we were away from the main action. The roasts - we had pork and chicken - were both just fabulous. Lots of meat and veggies and plump Yorkshire puddings piled up on the plates. I loved the pudding option of a coffee and mini-pudding which was the perfect size after the chunky main course. Altogether excellent and we will definitely be back.More infoCrown & HornsPrice: Moderate• Pub• Newbury•4
