It is difficult to define exactly what l’Gueuleton means but the words ‘feast’, ‘food’, ‘family’, ‘friends’ and of course ‘wine’ help us to understand a concept that is inherently French. Since 2004 l’Gueuleton has served French Bistro cuisine at its finest. Combining quality Irish produce with French flair, l’Gueuleton offers a fantastic menu, matched with a perfectly balanced selection of wines. Situated on the ground floor of the old Fade Street Tenements l’Gueuleton is a combination of exposed red brick walls, industrial beams, copper ceilings and wood floors.

The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. Much like our award-winning sister restaurant next door, The Winding Stair, we feel like we are custodians of something very special... a piece of history (James Joyce worked here, how unbelievable is that?!) and we must do it proud! Spanning over four floors and with a glorious roof terrace overlooking the River Liffey. The Woollen Mills is quintessentially Irish, local and of its locale. We want it to be an 'Eating House', a house of food, a place to grab a coffee and bun, a plate of Irish fish and chips, a place to score a casual bite befre the nearby theatres and cinemas or sit with seven courses of Irish antipasti, burrata, crab, lamb or cauliflower steak, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge with a fine bottle of red or a craft beer. We hope we do it well.

Dublin's most famous pub, certainly in a literary sense, with its Joycean associations. Always classy and fashionable. It's the original Dublin gastropub at over 100 years old.Anybody who is familiar with Dublin pub food will be aware of Davy Byrne’s food reputation, in which seafood is the speciality. If you visit the premises at lunchtime and evening time, you will witness the huge trade which is done in fresh Seafood, Wagyu Burgers and pub classics like Fish & Chips. There is also a full range of Salads and Sandwiches to compliment these and, as often as not, you can enjoy Oysters and Guinness. The classic Gorgonzola sandwich with a glass of Burgundy as mentioned in Ulysses is available every day.Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate strollers/buggies indoors at Davy Byrnes but subject to availability, we can at our outside terraced area. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I always have such a lovely time here. There was a wedding scheduled for this evening and whilst I don’t know how it went, it certainly is a beautiful choice of venue.

Really enjoyed visiting. The food is slightly overpriced in and of itself but more than made up for by the experience in terms of ambience. Overall, first time going but not the last!

Booked an early dinner for 2 people midweek. It was a small anniversary celebration for us. The restaurant was very quiet and we were greeted warmly and friendly by the host who assured us we could store our wheelchair without needing to bring it down to the table. Server was super friendly and personable. Our drinks and food came extremely quickly - right after our bread (fresh focaccia and olive oil) and drinks had just been brought. The food overall was delicious and very high quality. I had pork belly and sausage bucatini and got a full piece of pork belly on top of the pasta which had a delicious creamy sauce. My husband had pizza and ate every scrap of it. Also had a side of cheddar bacon fries. Yum! We got 2 desserts - mulled wine poached pears and a caramel sundae (couldn’t convince hubs to get the Christmas putting parfait with eggnog anglaise!) and a couple of cokes and a mocktail. Value was good for what we got - I did note a few items on the menu were quite highly priced a steak over €40 for example but that seems to be the norm now of extremely overly priced select items. Overall a delicious meal, friendly, attentive staff and a nice interior / vibe / decor in the place. My only small complaint was it was pretty cold - needed my jacket put back around my shoulders during the meal, It was the start of the freezing cold weather outside this week so maybe hadn’t thought to get heating going inside just yet! Otherwise no real complaints and will certainly be back ! Thanks for a lovely evening at Isabelle’s.
