Best Restaurants for Afternoon Tea in South Petherton

Really pleasant afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and an assortment of sweet deserts. Good atmosphere, not crowded and really excellent service. A little disappointed at having to pay for using Castles own car park when spending a reasonable amount of money in their venue bit overall would recommend the afternoon tea.

Our first Sunday lunch visit to Farm and Field Cafe after moving to Somerset from Australia 3 weeks ago. All I can say is “Excellent “, it is one of the best meals we have had since our return to the UK. Outstanding flavours and well cooked, I highly recommend to anyone considering Sunday lunch or any lunch out. Also for the Coeliacs amongst us the GF choices were plentiful and you definitely don’t miss out on a great Sunday lunch.

Fabulous experience, one of the best afternoon teas I’ve had for a long time. Attentive but not obtrusive. Delicious and gave takeaway box as we couldn’t eat all the cakes. Will definitely recommend and visit again! Staff a credit. Warm and friendly. Excellent presentation of delicious food.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed in warmly. The table was dressed festively. Our waitress (sorry I cannot remember her name) was lovely and helpful and confirmed that our special requirements of no fish had been noted. The food was delicious and there was a good choice of cakes and mini desserts as well as the normal scones, clotted cream and jam. However, the homemade mince pie was simply superb. I am 57yrs old and eaten a lot of mince pies over the years, and I can say this was THE BEST MINCE PIE I have ever eaten!!
