Best Romantic Restaurants in Ala Moana

Food was delicious, and loved the ambiance with the live music, dim lighting, and the restaurant being right next to the ocean. Me and my wife went on Valentine’s Day and we were able to get in right at our reservation time. She had the margarita pizza and I had the ribeye with jalapeño mashed potatoes and Swiss chard. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were incredible and so was the rib eye, which was cooked perfectly medium and tasted better than most nice steak houses I’ve been to. I would always recommend monkey pod to people looking for a good place to eat with a nice environment and setting.

This was our first experience. It was Valentines Day so perfect. Everything was amazing! The food, taste and quality were delectable! Portions were just right. Our waiter.. His service was outstanding! Very personable. Appearance of the restaurant magnificent! Reservation I made was right at sunset. It was Friday night so we got the Fireworks over Waikīkī too. Only thing disappointing was I left a note in the online reservation stating we were celebrating our engagement but staff wasn’t made aware. So best to call them direct I guess if you’re planning an occasion like that.

It was our first time trying it out & we were so excited for Valentines Day - first off, the whole entire staff from the person who sat us, to each of our waitresses, the ones who cleaned up the tables - we all so polite & attentive. GREAT customer service. All the meat was delicious, we also ordered a few drinks. Overall great experience!

We've enjoyed Merriman's before. For this visit, we brought out-of-town guests. Everyone had a tasty meal. I really like the salad verte - who knew fresh greens and lemon oil could be so tasty? DH had the cheeseburger for the first time - he said it was outstanding. I had a personal favorite - fish tacos. Their iced tea is also particularly good - not just Lipton but a lightly fruity black tea. I have celiac disease (no gluten, ever) and they are able to accommodate with more than just one choice.

Most amazingly superb high quality fish ever! The chef and assistant are supremely talented, the service is personal and attentive, the experience is life altering. Run and book a reservation!
