Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. Good choice of vegetarian and meat/fish options. On a Sunday Sunday lunch is added onto the evening menu. The Binham Blue starter was delicious. My wife had the nut roast, with all the trimmings, I had the Sunday special local mussels in a white wine and cream sauce, with bread to mop up the juices. We shared a triple chocolate brownie which was nice moist, served with ice cream and a hot chocolate sauce. Excellent service from the two young and enthusiastic waiter/waitress. Would thoroughly recommend.

The afternoon tea was lovely, outstanding food and value, great choice of items especially the Macaron and the Chocolate black forest gateau. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. The table was a little cramped and on a slope but suppose it all adds to the ambience. We shall return with our golden tickets in the new year! Thank you for another wonderful time at byfords.
