Best Steakhouses in University City/Golden Triangle

We came here for our anniversary. We were immediately greeted at the door with roses and champagne, that was already such a great experience. Once we checked in with our hosts, about 5 minutes later we were escorted to our table and we had the best view of the ocean. The table had fresh rose petals all over it, followed by a hand written “happy anniversary” card from Eddie V’s. Once our waitress came by, she came by with 2 more glasses of champagne on the house. We ordered a bottle of Daou reserve, the 22 OZ rib eye streak, mashed potatoes, truffled mac and cheese and asparagus. The night was absolutely beautiful. Our experience was amazing!!! Thank you to Eddie V’s for make our anniversary PERFECT! 10/10 across the boards!!! Selena was the best waitress ever! Shoutout to the WHOLE staff that night!

Our server, Brian, was great! attentive without being overbearing. There wasn't a bite I didn't love. The extra dirty martini was the perfect amount of dirty. Ribeye well seasoned, good char, and medium rare with a nice truffle mash. My favorite was definitely the roasted burrata. Even the bread paired with it was sensational. Don't miss out on the happy hour. Prices are phenomenal and some apps half off. And since the food gives you an extra pep in your step, you can power shop knowing you can try on clothes with a little extra room for the long haul wear 😉

We have been going to Ruth's Chris in Del Mar for the past 24 years. And, we are so pleased that it is now back thriving again. Last night (Valentine's Day), we sat in the bar for cocktails, appetizers and then ordered carryout. Anthony was our server and, as always, he was pleasant, polite, knowledgeable and paid great attention to detail. The martini's were perfect, bbq shrimp app was spot on and our takeout (seabass, crab cakes, salad and chocolate cake) were all packed perfectly and tasted wonderful. Thanks to Anthony, Jaime and the rest of the crew for a wonderful evening.

Happy hour looked like a great deal! We sat at the bar while waiting for our table. It’s such a treat coming here. Service is always impeccable. The spaghetti squash dish was sincerely out of this world. We split a steak and the squash and it was amazing. The Caesar salad had an anchovy across the top it looked intimidating but I tested it was not prepared for it to be such a good addition. Usually it’s minced into the dressing and is well covered. We went to Eddy V’s the night before. (Which was really good) But Hands down Island Prime for the win.
