- CCarolynTucson •7 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoI set the reservation letting them know we were there for a birthday. I asked if they do an amuse bouche, drink, or dessert and I was told dessert. It turned out the Gelato they use for the birthdays was out, and the server didn't offer anything in its place which seemed odd to me as that could've been an easy pivot. Turns out they were also out of another dessert and the lobster ravioli. Maybe going on a Monday wasnt the wisest as I wouldn't have known if I didn't try to order those things. We did enjoy everything we ordered, with the exception of the bolognese having cold spots according to the person in our party who ordered it. The biscuits were a delight--that jam and extra whipped butter were the perfect compliment to the honey drizzled biscuits. The burnt ends were good, but the star on that plate was the coleslaw--it was so refreshing! The vibe was definitely vibing, I'd for sure go back for cocktails and starters.More infoThe EndsPrice: Expensive• American• Old Town Scottsdale•4.5

- LLauralPhoenix / Arizona •14 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoBeen a fan of the chef since he graced the Phoenix area with his talents many years ago, and as such have seen him work within the constraints of everything from executing a four star hotel restaurant menu, doing food court style low country comfort food noshed off of bar stools, to his own open kitchens done his own way. I've seen him launch careers by nurturing local talent, providing space for pop-up dinners and guiding them through a service. Consistently, every time I've had the pleasure, there's always been a dish served that drops an involuntary hush over the table when tasted; it's usually something humble, a braised vegetable and rice or similar, but elevated, such that even if you're not a gourmand, you know you've just had something in its best possible form. That's just a small part of what he means, I think, when he says "make it nice." So I'm always a little floored by one of his meals, and specifically in this space I'm also grateful for the ease of service and how everyone you encounter is finely attuned to your comfort. If you're looking for culinary skill, inventiveness, and gracious hospitality, you've got it all here.More infothe larder & the deltaPrice: Very Expensive• Regional American (Southern)• Central Phoenix•4.6
