Best Cuban Restaurants in New Vernon

We made reservations last minute before our matinee show of Sunset Blvd. Havana Central didn’t disappoint. The drinks were on par and the food was delicious. The restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived but we didn’t have a long wait for our orders. Our waitress never came back to our table after our orders arrived but the rest of the staff was excellent. We were finished in time for us to get to our show. I read other reviews about the long wait for food and food temps were cold. This was not the case in our situation. We will definitely come back!

We do not live in or near New York, but every time we are in town this neighborhood gem never disappoints. Food is phenomenal!! The Ropa Vieja is mouthwatering delicious!

The table was ready early and they sat us as we arrived. What a great policy that others don’t do. Kudos to them. Service was provided by everyone- our waiter was always around and offering, at the same time, you could see all the waitstaff looking at the table to check on us. Food was great. And the live music - on a Tuesday- was a fantastic surprise. I’ll definitely be back.

My 4th time there and it never disappoints! From the time you get greeted at the door until you leave it is an awesome experience. The staff works extra hard to make you feel welcome and at home. The food is incredible and you feel as if you are dining in Cuba. The atmosphere, music, small restaurant feel is perfect. Iggy the host is great! LuLu waited on us this time and she was great! Can’t wait to get back there. Paella Cubana, ox tail, Congri are my go to’s, but everything is delicious. If you like Cuban food, you will love this place! Make a reservation or you probably won’t get in.

Food was great. Littler different than I’m used to considering it is Cuban food with a little Asian fusion Justin our server was amazing !
