- JJessicaPittsburgh •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt’s unfortunate that my date and I only have two mouths and two stomachs total between us, because I absolutely wouldn’t feel bad about ordering the entire menu in one sitting. Well, my wallet might. We did order a lot, though, and we ended up closing down the place. The ambience was sexy and upbeat (not the drowsy kind of sexy, you know what I mean). It paired perfectly with the cocktails and a bottle of sake, and the staff were super stoked to give recommendations based on what we were feeling. The food came out as it was prepared, plated to perfection and ready to share. Did we order too much? I mean, it looked like it, but we ate every crumb. I’d have licked the plate if I didn’t like my outfit so much. And like I said, we closed down the place but never felt like we were being annoying or rushed out. Next time I come back, I’m ordering the rest of the menu.More infoGolden GaiPrice: Very Expensive• Japanese• Point Breeze•4.8

- KKeithPittsburgh •1 review5.0Dined on 14 Nov 2024We ate at Otaru for the first time this evening, and I'm happy to say it was an incredible experience. I previewed the menu prior to our reservation, and it certainly did look daunting. However, our server Garrett and another server Angela made incredible recommendations and helped us create a memorable dinner. We opted for an appetizer of pork and shrimp buns and the portion size was great - in fact we could have split them. For our main course we were spoiled with delicious selections from both the Otaru Course and the Otaru Experience. I'm sure that we could have split one or the other, but having an individual portion of the amazing cold fish selections was great. We most definitely left with very, very full and happy bellies! Thanks for a great birthday meal, Otaru!More infoOTARUPrice: Very Expensive• Creative Japanese• Mt. Washington•4.7
