The food was bland and not enough choices for a buffet lunch that cost almost $200 a( did not see the actual cost on their website) we asked the waiter and a few other employees and no one knew the cost for the buffet per person on Christmas Day. We had to flag down the waiter multiple times to get water. The coffee or soft drinks was not included in the buffet and by the end of our lunch we paid close to $1000 for 6 people.

In my 26 years on-Island I have eaten at the Kahala for numerous Holiday Brunches. This year's brunch was more expansive than previous year. And, the food quality was exceptional.

The service was excellent. The food was not as good as in previous years and was barely warm and certainly was not as hot as expected.

We specifically reserved an outdoor seating and they initially tried to seat us in the outdated ballroom that looked like something out a of a convention center. This is where they had the buffet stations with guest shuffling back and forth between the ballroom and main dining area. Food was ok. Portuguese Bean Soup was luke warm. For price per person, quality of the food was not up to par. I would rather eat at Hoku’s upstairs and get a higher quality meal. The entire experience felt purely profit driven without much effort to conceal the bottom line.

We always enjoy dining at the Kahala Resorts restaurants. The food and service are always excellent. My family especially enjoyed the Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet this year. Dining at a later time turned out to be a blessing since we arrived at the tail end of the dinner rush. After dinner, the lobby was practically empty so taking pictures was easy.

Whilst I cant blame you for opening up the ballroom to capitalise on numbers, serving the food there rather than the regular place has led to a terrible experience. In short, the food was cold, bland and not up to standard for the prices you are charging. We travelled from Australia, and the meal ended up costing us close to $1,000. The service was substandard, we were left waiting for drinks and ended up leaving early. A very poor experience and one that I hope your take the feedback from and improve. It was simply not good enough.

We had their Christmas Eve dinner Buffet in 2024. The restaurant used the neighboring ballroom for the buffet lines and additional seating. We were seated in that ballroom. Food was just ok. The price of the seasonal buffet was slightly more expensive than the Sunday Hoku's brunch. We liked the Hoku's brunch MUCH MUCH better. The food at this seasonal buffet was just ok. For example, the pig had too much tendons in the pieces I was given and the Ahi sashimi looked low quality. Taste of the sashimi and sushi was fresh though. The Portuguese bean soup was ono too. Tasted like Punahou Carnival's soup. But it took us forever to get a waiter after we were seated. Clearly understaffed. And the front desk staff that checked us in before getting seated were clearly overwhelmed. This was at around 6:30p and there were a bunch of people waiting to get seated. Bottom line for us is we will not be repeating a holiday buffet here. There are only so many holidays in one's life and this experience made this year's holidays feel less special.
