Poggio is a classic Italian trattoria with comfortable neighborhood charm and destination-caliber cuisine. Created by Larry Mindel, who also founded numerous other restaurants in the Bay Area and beyond, Poggio has been ranked among the very best Italian restaurants since it opened. Led by Executive Chef and Partner Ben Balesteri, Poggio’s daily changing menus use the best available local ingredients including dishes inspired by the seasonal bounty of our local farmers, ranchers and fishermen and the traditional methods of Italy, including wood-fired ovens, house made pastas from scratch and a wide variety of dishes serving guests breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’re honored to have been awarded a Bib Gourmand distinction by the Michelin guide in 2017, 2018, and along with being named Best Italian restaurant in Marin County by Marin Magazine in 2021.

The angel hair didn’t have enough sauce and lacked flavor, In general this was a disappointing meal. The chocolate desert was the only excellent dish.

We ordered our pizza with our drinks as an appetizer. The drinks took a long time to come out and the pizza took even longer. The service was not that attentive. But the food was very good.

Two of us took a friend for his birthday and we all enjoyed it very much - the staff could not have been more efficient (yet friendly) and had almost forgotten when I made reservation online I said we were celebrating a birthday / so was surprised and pleased when the DELICIOUS dessert arrived. Thank you for the lovely food and overall experience.

regular diner for many years..tonight our server was very distracted, not paying attention to us or listening...not good! also we ordered some bread and got a basket of Stale bread with pieces of different doneness , crust colors etc. I am certain it was pieces of bread thrown in a basket from left over orders from other tables! NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beginning with the service, everything was superb! The pasta with white truffle although delicious, was a little pricey. Good thing we were too full to finish the whole thing so I got to take 1/3 of at home which made me feel a little better.
