The Footman - Mayfair
One of the oldest pubs in London, the Footman has been in place since 1749. Originally called The Running Horse it was frequented by the footmen who were in service to the households of Mayfair. They would run ahead of their master’s coaches, paying any tolls in advance and clearing a safe passage ahead. As the fashion for footmen dwindled, one bought the pub and named it after himself. Often the source of the best gossip, the pub soon became well known. Formally known as The Only Running Footman we are a three floored pub and dining room still catering for the people of Mayfair and beyond. Traditionally bedecked but with modern stylings, we offer food from our exciting menu from midday Monday to Sunday and also open early for coffee, drinks and business in relaxing surroundings. The Boardroom

Ascending to the third floor brings guests into The Footman’s most exclusive space, the Boardroom. A single large table is the centrepiece of the space, with a TV discretely hidden behind a decorative housing, giving the room an additional function as a corporate meeting area. At the end of the room, a statement dresser acts as a bar, providing diners with an attentive and tailored experience for the duration of any private event.
The Lounge

On the second floor, The Footman offers a flexible space doubling as a dining room and private event space. While the exposed brick styling remains, the floor has been updated with marble and brass detailing, adding decadence to any function. For the dining space itself, the seating has been replaced by new leather and fabric chairs with a studded detail, which sit on a brand-new timber flooring.
