   Excellent service and food. Had a great time with our group of 4. My only disappointment has to do w the fact that they charged a 20% service charge AND a 15% catering fee- for a normal table w a group of 4. That was 35% added to our bill without my consent. I always tip well, but I was denied the courtesy of allowing me to make the decision about the tip. I also have never been charged a catering fee at a restaurant for a normal table w a group of 4. Loved the food and the restaurant, but will most likely not be returning.

   Everything was great except the server tonight was not very attentive and hardly seen. Perhaps she was overwhelmed but no excuses when they automatically charge you 20% tip. Otherwise I would have tipped less for lack of service. We had to keep looking for her to serve our wine and other necessities. Food is amazing, the interior is minimalist chic.

   Have eaten before at othe slanted door locations. This one seems to lack the creative energy and fun that I experienced before. Welcome staff was diffident, bar experience while waiting for table was just ok. All this after leaving credit card hold for reservation (ok, but make it worth it!) on Open Table. Food was very good but lacked that bit of spark and felt heavy. The staff warmed up to us after a bit and were pleasant and polite. Overall, we liked our experience but will continue to search for a more special place when dropping $150 per person. Shame, I wanted very much to like this more than I did. Will try for lunch.

   We have been here since we live in Napa. In the future, we will come when it is warmer since the A/C is too cold inside. It will also be quieter sitting in the patio.

   The moment we arrived we were greeted and seated. The service was wonderful and the food and drinks were outstanding . The restaurant was lovely. We ordered the dumplings, ribs, salmon and rice. All were done to perfection. Would highly recommend,

   The crispy spring rolls were delicious especially the dipping sauce. The portion was 5 2-bite pieces so on the small side for $18. The crab glass noodles had very little crab for $36 price and could have used more seasoning. The star was the baby bok choy and shiitake mushrooms. Service was excellent.

    Have been a fan of Slanted Door since they opened their first location on Valencia in San Francisco and was pleasantly surprised that a search on Open Table resulted in their location in Napa. The food was excellent - shaking beef and daikon rice cakes are the usual go-to but the melt-in-your-mouth scallops are a must order. We all appreciated that the bok choy with mushrooms was cut into bite-size pieces avoiding the awkward struggle of biting into a whole or half bunch of leaves. The setting with the clean lines of slate was modern and having the dining area in a separate room from the large bar area made for a cozy and intimate experience for our party of 9 birthday celebration. Can't wait to go back!
