Coq d’Argent Restaurant
Perched on the roof of No.1 Poultry, Coq d’Argent commands spectacular views across the City of London and landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral, Mansion House, Monument and the Bank of England. Head chef Mickael Weiss takes his inspiration from classic French cooking, particularly from around Burgundy and northern France, while the restaurant's impressive and extensive wine list is similarly influenced. Guests step out of the lift into Arrabella Lennox-Boyd's amazing rooftop garden: the ultimate "champagne picnic ground" when the sun is shining. Coq d’Argent takes its name from two references: "Coq" from the address, at No.1 Poultry, and "Argent" (meaning silver) from the facts that the building was designed by the architect, James Stirling, and that the site was previously home to the jewellers and silversmiths, Mappin & Webb. The restaurant opened in August 1998.
