Throughout the space of Public, a modernist sensibility is blended with a classic American, Newport mansion drawing room theme. It's design is inspired by the existing architecture of the Masonic Temple and it's Rhode Island Capital Statehouse neighbor. Public's masculine and warm setting will be a meeting place for hipsters and Senators alike.

    The Public Kitchen and Bar was great as always. The service by August was great as usual- friendly, courteous and and quick and efficient. We were greeted and seated by Chris who was pleasant and welcoming as usual. Another delicious and pleasant experience.

    Staff was wonderful dealing with multiple small children because of Sesame Street live they did the best they could and we’re very nice and supportive of every family

    The food was excellent as was the service. I forgot my credit card and got a call promptly. We wanted to do something different this year for the holiday and this was a great choice. Much appreciated.

    Bartender was amazing. Meatballs were fantastic, great homemade sauce. However, the plantain chips were outstanding

    I love the setting here and I always make a reservation here when I am seeing a performance next door at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. The host is a great guy and the food is very good as well. Great setting and very good food.

    Great place to go before going to The Vets. No cheese on the charcuterie board, though, which was a surprise.

    The lobster carbonara was great. The service that I get from August ( who I request every time I go to Public Kitchen and Bar) was first rate as always. And Christopher the manager always welcomes me with a friendly manner. Another great experience!!

    We enjoyed our server, Robert so very much. Dinner was very good. Loved the eggplant chips and the cocktails were fabulous!!!
