Quiessence is a fine dining, true farm to table restaurant located at The Farm at South Mountain, a 10 acre oasis by South Mountain. We have a 2 acre organic garden onsite that we utilize as much as possible for our dishes. Our menu changes regularly based on local and seasonal availability. We offer tasting menus with the option of doing 3, 4 or 5 courses. The restaurant itself is housed in the original farmhouse of the property giving the restaurant plenty of rustic charm. Patio dining is also highly sought after when the weather is nice.

The Quiessence signature Brick Oven experience is an exclusive private eight-course dinner under the gazebo next to a working fireplace. With all ingredients straight from the garden, the fresh flavors of the farm shine through in our contemporary spin on traditional culinary techniques. During your meal, the Quiessence team will educate you on the dishes available that night, the origin of the ingredients and their preparation, and which cocktails or wine pair perfectly with your exceptional meal. Please note, the Brick Oven is available for only one reservation each night, for two to six guests. 185 per person plus 20% service charge.

Our second visit disappointed. The intervals between the first and second course was unaccountably long, making a four-course dinner last more than three hours. Our waitress was gracious and made what amends she could but the meal had lost momentum. A Manhattan, a Blood and Sand, and a pomelo-based cocktail got us off to a great start. The soup was inventive and nicely presented, Ceasar salads were fine once delivered. The gnocchi was bursting with flavor. One companion enjoyed his ribeye but two found theirs gristley. My pork was too done and the accompanying cauliflower almost raw. Such problems are not expected in restraunts that aim this high.

Our service was great - Molly and Justin very attentive and explained the menu clearly. The food was all delicious. The critique is that all the dishes were served barely warm vs. hot. I prefer my dishes served hot like fresh from the kitchen.

As first time guests at Quiessence, this was a special treat. The staff was warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. We will certainly be recommending Quiessence to our friends, family and visitors from out of state!
