   The pappardelle (sp?) experience was great and it was yummy as well! The tomahawk was also delicious and a very good price! But overall, the service exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to attend to our every need. Oh, and definitely have an espresso martini!!

   The food was good and came out quickly! The services and cleanliness was amazing! But all the adult beverages was fantastic!!

   Exceptional experience for lunch. CITALY was our server and she was outstanding. Very attentive and friendly and always kept checking on us. Food was amazing as always. CITALY was professional and very friendly.

   The food and drinks were delicious, the place is beautiful, but the main dining room ceiling is to low and with all people seating and eating there is so loud, we could not hear each other talking across our small table we felt like we were at central market place I DTLA,we had drinks at the bar first while they got table ready, we should’ve stayed at the bar and ate dinner at the bar. It was more quiet and the ambience were looking for, for date night ask for seating by the bar area dining room, the room has open patio windows and the noise doesn’t bounce back in the room.

   This was our second time dining here. First time was on a date, second time to celebrate an anniversary. Both times have been wonderful experiences. The food has always been perfect and the service above excellence. We will be back .

   Service was great, Jorge was very attentive and the tableside pasta preparation in the cheese wheel was a cool touch, but just impossible to see what was happening, even though the guy was explaining it. Ambience was very contemporary/trendy, which is a complete 180 from the former Lascari's, which had a much more intimate and traditional vibe. The consequence of the change is that the large open room and hard surfaces with no acoustic mitigation make it really hard to hear in there. Food was mostly good - my sister and were excited by, then ultimately underwhelmed by the tableside pappardelle. The short rib was excellent, but the pasta itself was mushy and overcooked. Our parents like both their dishes (cioppino and spaghetti). Drinks were unique and well executed, but unfortunately they ran out of the Clear Negroni that caught my attention, so that was a bummer. Overall not bad, but definitely a major shift toward a younger, hipper clientele - while I could see myself coming back with people my age, I definitely wouldn't bring my parents again.

   We had a reservation for 7:15 but we weren’t sat till 7:30. We asked to sit on the bar side of the restaurant because the main dining area smelled like something had burned. They were very busy and I don’t think they had enough servers to keep up. The manager took our drink order and appetizers order. We got our appetizers before our cocktails. We ordered dirty martinis, but had to send them back because there was no olive juice in them. It took forever to order our main entrée, then took even longer to get our bill. Multiple tables were complaining about the wait time and service. We got the calamari and the short rib pappardelle which were fine. Overall it was disappointing

   We had a fantastic Brunch experience at 1970! The short rib Benedict on a croissant was delicious, and having a warm and friendly hostess like Marisela really elevated the whole dining experience. The jazz music playing and pleasant ambiance was a great touch to make the visit even more enjoyable. We are already looking forward to trying lunch and dinner there!

    A friend and I met for dinner here; neither of us had eaten here before. The service was welcoming and professional and the food was delicious. Our server helped with our dessert decision, and we were left to ourselves to sit and talk and enjoy the experience. Would definitely recommend, and hope to eat here again.
