34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

Went for lunch. Friendly helpful server explained an unfamiliar cuisine. Noise level low enough for conversation to be easy. Every item tried was delicious

What an experience! The restaurant is beautiful from the moment you walk in. Our waiter Nick was outstanding as well as the rest of the servers. The drinks, specifically the variations of gin and tonic, were fantastic. Although the food was somewhat difficult to make out on the menu (as it is unfamiliar Portuguese food), Nick walked us through the whole menu and helped us selected some fantastic dishes. The 3 breads and 3 butters appetizer, Manilla clams, Spanish Paella, and pasteis dessert really shined. I'm sure the rest of the food is great as well. Portuguese food is similar to Spanish food, but unique enough to be a different experience on its own.

From the moment we entered to the time we left service was exceptional. Food was very good. The whole fish presentation and taste was exceptional and perfect to share.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the dining space, the food and the drinks. The service was attentive and pleasant but not necessarily at the top level you'd expect from an Emeril's restaurant. That should get better with time, though. The multiple menus and mix of small plates and regular-sized plates took a bit of time to understand and work out with our group of 6, but we ended up with the right amount of food and everyone was happy.

Loud. Horrible service. We had a reservation, and there were empty tables, and we still had to wait 30 minutes. I won’t go back.

Decor, food, and drinks all great. Terrible job coursing the meal as we thought we be brought out over time instead of have 9 dishes all on the table at once. Like the lively vibe but the DJ selections at 8 o’clock seemed like a little much

Chef Chris and the team made my murtoseiro husband feel RIGHT at home. He came out and greeted us personally and frequently checked with us to see how we enjoyed the food. The best pasteis de natas, bacalhau a gomes de sa, e frango that we've ever enjoyed. The food is served family style, which is very reminiscent of how portuguese cuisine is enjoyed. It comes in waves and in appropriate serving sizes. The menu is a beautiful reflection of portuguese culture and history. The service was nothing short of excellent and Chef Antonio was delightful. We WILL be back more than once to enjoy this food.

There was lots of loud rap and disco music and we really couldn’t hear each other or our server. The menu was mysterious and even though we eat often at different cultural venues, we weren’t sure about what we would have been ordering. We ordered the vegetable paella and it was very good. The side plates that the four of us ordered were good but there wasn’t much else that we recognized as familiar on the menu. The music was for young, young people. Hopefully they will get it right soon.
