   Had a dinner reservation for two and when we arrived there were many open tables, but we were crammed into a table for two right next to another couple basically right on top of us. Not a pleasant experience for private conversation. Started out with a pizza as an appetizer and when we were served the pizza, our main course came out a minute or two later. It wasn’t the worst thing that happened because the bottom of the pizza was totally black and burnt on the bottom and my wife and I were hungry. My main course was okay, but not hot, but was happy to eat something edible. Last time we ate here, things were great, but this was a bad night I guess!

   Have to kitchen before and have had good experience. This time not as good. Wings and brussel sprouts very good. Main courses not as good. Short rids no flavor and dry. Sent back and they quickly brought another sandwich which was good. Chicken paprikash tasted like chilly. Spatzils were very dry. We know they are expanding to other locations but need remember we they started.

   We were warmly greeted upon our arrival. Our waitress arrived at our table very promptly and she too was quite pleasant. We both ordered a special, a chicken and a blackened walleye. They were both prepared to perfection. We were delighted to lick our plates clean.

   Always have a great dining experience at Kitchen 56. Yesterday my husband tried something different. The seasoning in the entree was too much for him and the server was very observant and realized he didn’t care for the dish and brought him something else without hesitation. My husband didn’t want to make a fuss but the server took great care of him. My short rib meal was delicious. I highly recommend and the cocktails were excellent.

    This was our first visit to the restaurant based on recommendations from friends. We will definitely be back. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and sausage. It was served piping hot and was delicious with plenty of meat toppings. My wife ordered the salmon avocado sandwich and a side salad. The salmon was cooked medum-well as ordered and the salad was crisp and fresh. Service was very good. Our server was prompt and attentive.
