   I was very disappointed with the overall meal. It took forever to get our food. My hot chicken sandwich was overcooked and dry. The French fries were overcooked to the point of being hollow. The Brussels sprouts were charred and dry. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the server was really nice.

   It was fine. Went for brunch and the prices are very affordable. The Reuben sandwich was really good. The star of the meal were the grits. Phenomenal flavor. The southwestern salad was very bland and the chicken in it was so tough and flavorless. Maybe it had been used to make stock? Thought the pieces scattered in the salad were croutons at first. Our server was nice but brusque. Very competent. The kind of service you’d get at a diner.

   We had a great time and meal! The black cherry basil mule was delicious! My husband enjoyed the house cab. He had the salmon and I had the wild mushroom ravioli… both were fantastic! Mike was a wonderful server and we really enjoyed our dinner!

   We arrived on time and were seated with menus. Two ladies were greeting and seating. We sat at the table for over 15 while we watched tables be cleared and food be served. No one spoke to us, greeted us or said they would be back to take our order. NO ONE! We finally just left. I have no idea how the food is. But I have to leave a grade to be able to leave a review. This restaurant was recommended by friends and we thought we would try it. We hadn’t driven up to Denton for a few years, we usually go to McKinney. I guess we will stick with McKinney.

   This was our 6th or so visit (tonight was to celebrate my birthday), we come every few months and adore this restaurant… but they had an off night food-wise. Our wait staff was phenomenal as always, but the burger was subpar (it’s typically my favorite in Denton), the fries were inedible, and my husband said the Nashville hot chicken was the worst plate of restaurant food he’s ever gotten. Again, the employees were great as always!! But I’m hoping this was just one bad night because we’ve never had bad food here in the past.

    The dining experience is so perfect here at 940 kitchen. Our service professional Madeline was attentive and friendly.
