Afternoon Tea at Jean-Georges at The Connaught offers a playful, modern twist on the great British afternoon tea experience and is served in the light filled contemporary restaurant overlooking the fashionable shops of Mount Street. With curated art from Louise Bourgois adorning the walls, the afternoon tea offering reflects both the savoury signature ingredients and flavours of International chef Jean- Georges Vongerichten, and the stylish and witty patisserie of Nicolas Rouzaud. A touch of theatre is included with an ever changing seasonal chocolate fondue complete with charming animal shaped shortbread biscuits and the distinctive humorous illustrations of French illustrator Jean -Jullien. Afternoon tea at Jean-Georges at The Connaught is served with the expected five star attention to detail, but with an unexpected lightness of touch and informality.

To be honest, tea was very disappointing. I make sure I try different high end luxury teas while in London. This was the first time I truly let down. The sandwich’s were especially uninteresting and tasteless. Not what I was expecting from Jean-George.

Afternoon tea is served in the restaurant, and not in a separate room as other afternoon tea experiences. We were disappointed with the sandwiches; however, not seated in a separate room separated from restaurant dinners was most disappointing.

Took a friend from abroad here to experience afternoon tea. The doormen who greeted us was absolutely charming and accommodating and chatted with us. The staff inside were fairly friendly though two staff members made us feel a little uncomfortable when we wanted to look around the ground floor hotel area and take photographs. However, the more experienced and senior staff were charming and even showed me the cigar room that I was interested in seeing. We had nice and comfortable seating and did not feel rushed. The staff who waited on us were friendly and helpful enough. With regards to the afternoon tea, the sandwiches were very good, including Turkey and Salt beef. The scones were good and including a brown flowered raisin which was interesting. The pistachio cake and chocolate ganache were delicious but the other cakes tasted processed. The hotel is beautiful but busy and stuffy and one almost got the feel that you were intruding some private members’ club. I probably would not go again as, unlike many other places I have been to afternoon tea to, that treat every one as a VIP, this hotel appears to be too exclusive and catered for those who are regulars.

Mediocre at most. Touristy. A plate of pre-plated sandwiches placed in front of every person. Pastries were average. Service was ‘cold’ and not welcoming. Pop music playing through ceiling speakers. Probably the worst of my afternoon tea experiences in London. Thankfully we went for delicious martinis at their bar afterwards… Can not recommend for afternoon tea and would not return.

As always the hotel exudes class style and refinement the classic of LP champagne for tea is a delight the vegan option maybe needs bit more but is tricky from experiences elsewhere however the classic tea is wonderful and some really interestings teas to go with Thnak you

Afternoon tea. Not a very nice setting. Had reservations but table was in the main thoroughfare. They did move us to be fair. Three or four different servers. I have allergies and told them ahead of the tea only to be served food I could not eat. No chain of custody on information about this serious allergy. This is unforgivable. Ambiance is poor. Service slow even for afternoon tea. So many better options. Never again.

The service was very poor. We were left sitting for twenty minutes and had to ask for menus. Then some sandwiches were brought and another 30 minutes when by. We hadn’t even ordered our tea yet. It was also my daughters birthday and though they had called to confirm it, they never brought out anything for her. The whole experience was very disappointing.
